GROWING UP

JUNE 13, 2015 LEAVE A COMMENT

In the moment you usually don’t think about how fast time is going. Like on your birthday you are a year older, though you don’t feel like it. But as the year goes by you start to notice more responsibilities, and people expect more out of you. That is when you start to feel older.

When you get out of school for the summer it is always exciting to know that when you return you will be a grade higher, and it is only a matter of time before you graduate. But that is also a scary experience because once you graduate you are on your own.

This year went by so fast. It seems like every year goes by faster and faster. Even the recital came so fast this year! I feel like I was just learning dances last week. This means I am one year closer to graduating at dance which makes me feel kind of sad because once I graduate I probably won’t get the chance to perform and dance as much as I am able to now.

But I am excited for what the future holds. I will get to drive, get a place to live on my own, and I will not have to rely on as many people as I do now. But in the same breath that means I will have more responsibilities than I have ever had before. It is scary that I will be going into the real world in a few short years, but it is very exciting at the same time.

All I can do right now is live in the moment and hope for the best in the future. Now that I have thought about how quickly time passes I will be sure to cherish and appreciate every last minute of time that I have.
